Mary Lu Ralston, 77, Oblong, passed away at 12:59 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2008, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson following several weeks of deteriorating health. Born on January 4, 1931, in Martinsville, Illinois she was the daughter of Forrest Clark Leggett and Nellie P. (Morgan) Leggett. She was a secretary to the Oblong Twp. Supervisor for 33 years; homemaker; formerly was a buyer for Root's Milinery Department Stores in Terre Haute, Indiana. Mary Lu was a member of the First Christian Church in Oblong; P.E.O. Chapter KS; taught K.J.U. Sunday School for 14 years; Board Member of the Crawford Memorial Hospital Foundation; member of Crawford County Council for the Arts; was a Girl Scout Leader; Campfire Organizer and Leader and was an avid golfer.

On August 27, 1950, she married Richard L. Ralston, who survives. Also surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. "Rick" & Robin Ralston; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ann & Jon C. Zerkel; three grandchildren, Adrienne R. & Christopher Foster, Richard A. "Trey" Ralston and Mitchell Dale Ralston; and one sister, Lorene Spittler.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Erica Lee Ralston, February 6, 1988.

Burial is in Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
