Ronald D. Perrine, 62, Decatur, Illinois and formerly of Oblong,Illinois passed Sunday, December 21, 2008, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Illinois. Born in Oblong on October 21, 1946, and was the son of Howard Perrine and Hazel M. Baker Perrine. He served 10 years with the U. S. Navy. He owned and operated R P's Auto and Truck Repair. Ron coached girl's softball for over 20 years. He started a hitting and pitching school called "One on One". Softball was his life, and after coaching he followed the careers of all the girls he coached in softball. Family request that casual attire be worn and that all softball players with "Team Perrine" shirts be worn at visitation and funeral. He was an avid Quail hunter, loved camping, fishing and anything that had to do with the outdoors.

On January 17, 1982, he married Roberta A. "Bobbie" Farlow, who survives. Also surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne & Tina Perrine; daughters and sons-in-law, Ronda & Randy Zielsdorf, Melissa & Tim Highley and Chrissy Perrine; special daughter & partner, Laurie Wells & Kimberly; one brother and sister-in-law, Kent & Laurie Perrine; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita & Bill Kuenstler, Karen & Kip Davis and Nancy & Randy Sparks; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Jordan and Austin Zielsdorf, Hunter, Maddie and Parker Perrine, Braden and Kennedy Highley; and many special nieces and nephews also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
