Hazel M. Perrine, 87, Oblong, passed away at 4:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008, at her residence. Born on June 22, 1921, rural Flat Rock, she was the daughter of Elmer Baker and Bertha Souther Baker. She worked as the Cafeteria Manager for Oblong Elementary School for over 17 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Oblong; United Methodist Women's group; Oblong Food Pantry volunteer, where she was in charge of ordering the food and was also a Board Member; Oblong American Legion Auxiliary; 20th Century Club; and Tuesday Afternoon Card Club. She enjoyed gardening; watching birds and her grandchildren.

On March 2, 1946, she married Howard Perrine, who preceded her in death on May 17, 1981. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Thurman Baker and Cecil Baker; three sisters: Leona Baker, Lily Ford and Elma Hout.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald & Roberta "Bobbie" Perrine and Kent & Laura Perrine; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rita & Bill Kuenstler, Karen & Kip Davis and Nancy & Randy Sparks; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lavonne Baker and Mary Perrine Dungan; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
