Donald G. "Don" Leichty, 77, Robinson, Illinois passed away at 1:24 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2008, at his residence. Born in Crawford County, North of Oblong, on June 19, 1931, he was the son of Ervin "Duke" Leichty and Dorothy (Griffith) Leichty. He was a graduate of Oblong High School Class of 1949. He served with the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Don retired from the Marathon Refinery as Maintenance Foreman after 36+ years in 1992. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Robinson; Oak Glenn Golf Course where he was Club Champion several times; Oblong Masonic Lodge #644 A.F. & A. M. for 49 years. He loved his grandchildren and golf. Don enjoyed gospel music; his cats and all sports.

On December 22, 1951, he married Mona Ann Dollahan, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike & Debbie Leichty and Greg & Heather Leichty; six grandchildren, Jeff Leichty, Andy & Erin Leichty, Dustin Leichty, Lacey Leichty, James Leichty and Molly Leichty; two great-grandchildren, Ben & Addi Leichty; one brother and sister-in-law, Max & Janet Leichty; one sister and brother-in-law, Sherry & Rondel Lee Boyd; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Jason Leichty.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
