Helen G. Jobe, 84 Oblong, Illinois, passed away at 8:15 P.M. Friday December 19, 2008 at her home in Oblong. She was born on September 9, 1924 in Jasper County, Illinois. Helen was the daughter of Claude Williams and Enola Benefield. On March 1, 1946 she married Lawrence W. Jobe, who survives. Helen was Co-Owner of Helen's Style Shop in Oblong which opened in August of 1946 and the next 38 years until 1984, when her daughter took over the shop. She was a member of the Newton High School Class of 1942, Oblong American Legion Post #219 Auxiliary, Oblong Women's Club, Oak Glenn Glennettes and the Prairie Quilters Club. Helen was involved with the Teen Tower in Oblong for many years, she enjoyed playing golf, needlework, quilting and ceramics.

Helen is survived by her husband Lawrence W. Jobe; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jim and Cheryl Jobe and Jack A. Jobe; one daughter Janet Jobe Schilowsky; four grandchildren- Brian Bennett, Chris & Kara Jobe, Cory Jobe and Abby Schilowsky; two great grandchildren – Kyndal Jobe and Landen Keller; a sister-in-law Gwen Williams; several nieces and nephews and Special Care givers Elaine Cornwall, Barbara Elzy and Loretta Tolliver.

Helen's parents; one brother – Ray Williams; three sisters Peggy Steppe, LaVerne Ziegler and Verna Mae DuFrain.

Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery.
