Billie Jo Bowen, 60, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at her residence. Born in Pinkstaff, Illinois on November 4, 1948, she was the daughter of William Wirey and Louetta Moore Wirey. She was a graduate of Robinson High School - Class of 1967. She was a registered nurse at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois. Her hobbies included reading; jigsaw puzzles; games and making quilts.

On September 6, 1991, she married Greg Bowen, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa & Kevin Highshoe, Beth Venatta and Gail & Michael Heleine; two step-children, Andy & Nora Bowen and Michelle Bowen; four grandchildren, Malerie Venatta, Matthew Venatta, Breann Purcell and Brandon Venatta; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth & Debbie Valle, William & Jeannie Wirey, Marlin Wirey, Keith & Rita Wirey and Kirt Wirey; one sister, Betty Schlosser; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Perna Wirey.
