John Martin Adams, 64, Yale, Illinois passed away at 1:48 a.m. Sunday, November 2, 2008, at his residence in Yale, Illinois. Born on September 21, 1944 in Tazewell County, he was the son of Ellis Calvin Adams and Leota (Davis) Adams. He was employed with Caterpiller in East Peoria, Illinois retiring in 1994; he also worked for Dental Arts Laboratories in Peoria, Illinois from 2005 - 2006; He lived in the Peoria area from 1964 - 2005. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a life member of the Hilton Masonic Lodge #1143 A.F. & A.M. , East Peoria, Illinois. John graduated from Oblong High School Class of 1962. He enjoyed both bow and gun hunting; camping and just being outdoors.

On May 31, 1963, he married Janet Miller, who survives. Also surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey & Gail Adams; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet Melinda & James Joost; four grandchildren, James & Tiffany Joost, Jacqueline Joost, Jennifer Joost and Julia Joost; one great-grandson, Wesley Joost; one brother, Roy Lee Adams; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Adams, Leo Smith, Roy Alexander, Roger Miller, Alice Wever, Paul & Cindy Miller and John & Pat Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Art & Ben Adams; and two sisters, Jane Smith & Florence Alexander.

Burial will be in the Yale Cemetery, Yale, Illinois.
