Home. Ida Imogene Yager, 74, Willow Hill, died at 11:38 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. Born June 26, 1932, in Newton, she was the daughter of John Gasso and Winnie (Andrews) Gasso. She worked for the Ettlebrick Shoe Factory, Olney; Douthits Drug Store, Newton and in the Housekeeping Department at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Newton and the Ste. Marie American Legion Auxiliary. Imogene loved reading, cooking and being with and taking care of her family. Imogene was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. On August 18, 1956, she married George "Sonny" Yager Jr., who survives. Also surviving are one son, Donald Yager; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Yager, Darlene & Kevin Dart and Gloria & Tony Litzelman; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Coralea Lister, Rose & Kenny Tate and Frances & Dale Gentry; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents. Burial is in Yager Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois. |
