Kenneth Raymond Stevens, 97, Lawrenceville, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007, at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, Lawrenceville, Illinois. Born in Ithaca, New York on June 20, 1909, he was the son of Percy Stevens and Sarah (Lobdell) Stevens. Kenneth was a auto mechanic working at several different locations in Ithaca, NY and also in the Chicago area. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Lawrenceville. He was a collector of antique toy cars.

In 1930 he married Thelma Longhouse, who preceded him in death in 1963. On April 4, 1964, he married Evelyn E. Refner, who preceded him in death on December 22, 1995. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Wayne.

He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Roland & Carole Stevens and Mitchell Stevens; one daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia & Albert Smith; two step sons, James and William Brown; two step daughters, Barbara Mullens and Patricia Hack; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Burial is in Beverly Cemetery, Blue Island, Illinois.
