to the Funeral Home. Virgil E. Servison, 83, Olney, IL and formerly of Newton, IL, passed away at 2:32 a.m. Thursday October 11, 2007, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney. Born on May 29, 1924, in Robinson, IL, he was the son of Harvey Servison and Adeline (Cox) Servison. Virgil served in the U. S. Army during W. W. II where he received the Silver Star Medal. Virgil was an auto body repairman for Sparks Auto Care, Oblong; Steve's Auto Repair, Olney and Webster Ford in Newton. He also did home repair work in the Newton area. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Olney; and also a life time member of the Olney American Legion Post #30. His interest included: fishing; visiting with people; time spent with his grandchildren; playing cards; word puzzles; and traveling - he loved to visit with his Army buddies. On December 24, 1946, he married Reba A. Scott, who preceded him in death on July 24, 1995. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers: Raymond and an infant brother; three sisters: Sylvia, Helen & Ellen Servison. Suvivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Caryn & Paul Fritschle, Mt. Carmel, IL; three granddaughters: Sherry & Troy Wolfe, Mt. Carmel, IL, Lori & Mike McWilliams, Mt. Carmel, IL and Kimberly & Bob Murphy, Evansville, IN; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews and sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law. Burial is in the White Oak Cemetery, Rural Oblong, Illinois. |
