Naomi Russell, 86, Oblong, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2007, at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Born on September 6, 1920, in Gary, Indiana, she was the daughter of John McCrillis and Stella (Littlejohn) McCrillis. She was a cook in the Oblong School District where she cooked at the Bend School and then at Oblong High School retiring in 1989. Naomi was a member of the Oblong First Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. Her hobbies included quilting and sewing.

On September 11, 1938, she married Albert Russell, who preceded her in death in 1972. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one grandson, Todd Russell.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth & Nancy Russell and Donald A. & Karen Russell; one daughter, Charlotte Ladd; six grandchildren, Pamela & Mike Johnson, Paula & Steve Myers, Kari & Eugene Gower, Mychele & Peter Lusk, Julie & Brigham Kirk and Lisa & Robert Woodring; 10 great-grandchildren, Arron, Hayden, Summer & Samantha Johnson, Lewis & Harlei Myers, Taylor Gower, Kelsey Ladd, Abby Kirk and Madison Woodring; and several cousins.

Burial is in Berlin Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois.
