Lawrence E. "Jack" McDaniel, 84, Oblong, died at 12:33 A.M. E.S.T. at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana. Born on October 7, 1922, in Glenallen, Missouri, he was the son of Marion B. McDaniel and Myrtle (Whitensburg) McDaniel. He was a laborer at E. H. Barre, Robinson. Jack served in the U.S. Army during W. W. II, he was a devoted serviceman of the United States. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Oblong. Jack was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved children, cats and playing bingo.

On August 13, 1978 he married M. Deloris "Dodie" Reynolds, who preceded him in death on September 21, 2002. Also preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include one sister, Beatrica Elmore, and one niece, Tammy Gann.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois
