Chloris M. "Buster" Lorance, 92, Oblong, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007, at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong. Born in Crawford County, on March 17, 1915, he was the son of William Noah Lorance and Stella C. (Smith) Lorance. He was retired from Marathon Oil Refinery as a heavy equipment operator for 32 years. Buster was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Oblong; Charter Member of the first Oblong Ruritan Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Buster was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan.

On February 18, 1932, he married Oliaf L. "Pod" Hill, who survives. Also surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, Larry & Norma Lorance; one daughter, Anita L. Catt; four grandchildren, Rick & Sue Catt, Debbie & Bill Spivey, Lori & Tim Hetzler and Peggy & Brian Weigele; nine great-grandchildren: Mandy Catt, Brandon Catt, Brad & Sara Heilwagen, Lucas & Beth Catt, J. D. Hetzler, Ross Hetzler, Nick Pressley, Christine Spivey and Bailey Spivey; one brother and sister-in-law, Earl & Lorraine Lorance; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy E. "Jim" & Pauline Hill; and several nieces & nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Claude; and three sisters, Clara White, Lula Rushing and Edna Dunham.

Burial is in Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
