Larry K. Leckey, 74, Oblong, Illinois died at 7:42 A.M. Friday April 27, 2007 at his home. He was born in Oblong on May 21, 1932 and was the son of Ray M. Leckey and Fannie (Fullen) Leckey. On July 7, 1952, he married Joyce Ward in Wheeler, Illinois. Larry worked for the Oblong Grain Company then with the Marathon Oil Refinery in Robinson, Illinois for 23 years as an Operator on the Coker Unit and then as a Boardman until his retirement in 1998. After he retired, Larry worked part time at the Freedom Gas Station in Oblong. Larry was in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1952 through 1954. Larry's interests were woodworking, coin and stamp collecting and working in his rose garden.

Larry is survived by his wife, Joyce Leckey; three sons & daughters-in-laws Lance & DeAnne Leckey, Brad & Darci Leckey and Eric Leckey; one daughter and son-in-law Laura & James Ochs; seven grandchildren Cameron & Tammy Barrett, Mitchell Leckey, James A. Ochs, Andy & Yanhong Ochs, Samantha Leckey, Danielle Leckey, and Michal Leckey; two sisters and brothers-in-laws Lillian & Roger Evans and Mary & Jerry Cooper; a sister-in-law Pauline Leckey; several nieces & nephews and by his dog "Webster" whom he dearly loved.

Larry's parents and one brother Joseph Leckey preceded him in death.

Bro. Phil Boyd will officiate and burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
