Max Hosier, 75, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 9:28 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong. Born on September 22,1931, in Crawford County, near Bellair. He was the son of Chester Hosier and Violet (Hickox) Hosier. Max was a graduate of Oblong High School, Class of 1951. He was a retired farmer and truck driver. Max was a member of the Church of Christ in Yale, Illinois; North Fork Conservancy; and former President of the Oblong School Board. He liked to travel especially the mountains in Colorado. He also liked to garden, watch sports and Oblong Band Concerts.

On December 23, 1953, he married Lois Dillman, who survives. Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, John & Teresa Hosier; one brother and sister-in-law, Don & Judy Hosier; one sister, Mary Middleton; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding his in death were his parents; two brothers, Chester & Oliver; three sisters, Pauline Huddleston, Margaret Bishop and Lucille Shinabarger.

Burial is in Mound Cemetery, Rural Jasper County, Illinois
