Fern F. Thacker, 98, New Port Richey, Florida formerly of Landes, Illinois went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 11, 2006, 10:00 p.m. E.S.T. at the Hospice Care Center, New Port Richey, Florida.

Born July 19, 1908, in Landes, Illinois she was the daughter of Frank Baker and Lula (Paddock) Baker. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a hard working farmers wife, an excellent homemaker, who served the Lord Jesus and loved her family. She was a life long resident of Landes until her move to Florida in 2003. She was a member of the Landes United Methodist Church where she was a pianist as well as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

On February 28, 1931, she married Chester Thacker, who survives. They were married for 75 years. Also surviving is one daughter, Connie Dick; one grandson, Blake and Brenda Smith; two granddaughters, Jeanean and Jim Gruzlewski and Danette Smith; eight grandchildren, Paige, Lindsay and Kyle Gruzlewski, Jacob and Caleb Smith, and Bridgette, Matthew and Macey Paddick.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, George Thacker; one son-in-law, Jerry Dick and one sister, Ruth Kesler.

Burial is in Keplinger Cemetery, rural Landes.
