Michael L. Snider, 65, Oblong, Illinois died Thursday January 12, 2006 in Oblong, Illinois. Michael was born on November 23, 1940 in Crawford County (near Oblong, IL) and was the son of James A. "Jim" & Catherine (Pine) Snider. On May 9, 1964 he married Karen Kay Mickey and later he married Ginney Correll on April 10, 1982. Michael served in the U. S. Navy. He was a crane and heavy equipment operator at Union Carbide in Robinson, Illinois. He retired as a control room operator at Union Carbide in 1996. Michael was a member of the Crawford County V. F. W. and E. M. Coulter American Legion Post #69, Robinson, Illinois. Michael graduated from Oblong High School - Class of 1958. His hobbies included reading western books and shooting guns.

Michael is survived by his father, James A. "Jim" Snider; two sons and daughter-in-law, Pat & Beth Snider and Brett Snider; two grandchildren, Aaron Patrick and Andrew Preston Snider; three brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry Snider, Art & Pat Snider and Tom Snider; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise & Michael Karns and Barbara & Clarence "Chub" Weck; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Richard.

Burial is in the Oblong Cemetery.
