Dorothy Leichty, 95, Oblong, Illinois passed away Friday January 27, 2006 at 4:45 P.M. in Cotillion Ridge Care Center, Robinson, Illinois. She was born in Crawford County near Hardinville, Illinois on August 31, 1910 and was the daughter of Odus Griffith and Tressie (McLain) Griffith. On August 26, 1929 she married Ervin “Duke” Leichty who died January 1, 1963. Dorothy was a homemaker and member of Dogwood Prairie United Methodist Church, rural Oblong. She graduated from Oblong Township High School in 1927 and her hobbies included crocheting and playing the piano for over 40 years at Dogwood Church.

Dorothy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws Don & Mona Leichty and Max & Janet Leichty; one daughter and son-in-law Sherry & Rondel Lee Boyd; six grandchildren Mike & Debbie Leichty, Greg & Heather Leichty, Mike & Debbie Shrock, Kevin & Cindy Leichty, Phil & Billye Jo Boyd and Spephanie & Jon Carroll; ten great -grandchildren Jeff Liechty & Melanie Bowden, Andy & Erin Leichty, Dustin, Lacey, James and Molly Leichty, Matthew Shrock, Connie Leichty, Keith Leichty and Marissa Carrell.

Dorothy’s parents, husband and one great- grandchild preceded her in death.

Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery.
