David L. Hoffman, 40, Willow Hill, died about 12:15 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2006, at his residence from cancer. Born November 15, 1965, in Denton, Texas, he was the son of Jack Virgil Hoffman and Mary (Salee) Hoffman. He worked as a carpenter at saw mills, Tempco Products in Robinson and as a truss builder at Jesse B. Holt in Newton. He was affiliated with the Oak Grove Church in Palestine. He was a member of the ACHA - American Coon Hunters Association, Crawford County Coon Club and he raised coon dogs.

On May 21, 1987, he married Deanna "Sue" Mendenhall and she survives. Also surviving is his father, Jack Hoffman; three brothers and sister-in-law, Mark McFarland, Doug Hoffman and Mike and Felicia Hoffman; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Jo and Jim Brown, Mary Allen, Nancy & Brent Smith, and Brenda Blacker; two half brothers, Randy and Tim Kessling; one half sister, Linda Kessling; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his mother.

Mr. Hoffman's body will be cremated following the Funeral Service.
