Thomas N. "Tom" Cook, 82, Oblong, Illinois died Tueday, July 26, 2005 at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois. Tom was born August 13, 1922 in Charleston, Illinois and was the son of Jesse Nelson & Sally (McElwee) Cook. On December 31, 1949 Tom married Helen Elizabeth (Lippincott) and she preceded him in death on November 11, 2001. Tom was the owner of The Cottage restaurant in Oblong for forty years. Tom served in the U. S. Army. He attended the Allegheny Wesleyan Church in Oblong and was a member of the Oblong American Legion Post #219. His hobbies included gardening, mowing, selling Christmas trees, playing cards and matching dollars.

Tom is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Shirley & Terry Seamon and Cindy Turner; one step-daughter, Janet & Ronald Parsons Van Winkle, three grandchildren, Sabrina Seamon, Thomas and Jesse Turner; one sister and brother-in-law, Maxine & Joe Keefe.

Tom is preceded by his parents, wife, one son: John N. Cook and one brother: Carlos Cook.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois
