Daniel L. Thomas, 40, Oblong, Illinois passed away Monday December 5, 2005 from injuries sustained in a fall in Robinson, Illinois. Dan was born in Franklin County, Ohio on April 5, 1965 and was the son of Larry Thomas and Joyce Ison Thomas. On August 7, 2001 he married Pam Henry and she survives. Dan joined the U. S. Marines where he served in Panama and Nicaragua. Dan worked with a railroad maintenance company that was contracted by several railroads, Bradford Supply Company, Robinson, IL and the past three years worked at Victor Dana starting in the Utility Department and most recently as a Screen Printer. He was a member of District 111 of the International Association of Machinist & Aerospace Workers - Local 2293, he was a Union Shop Steward, member of Robinson Eagles Lodge, Dale Earnhardt Fan Club, Nascar race fan, loved all sports, a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and a proud Marine. Dan won several high school football awards at Portsmouth West High School where he was a graduate of the Class of 1983. Dan's hobbies included swimming and weight lifting.

Dan is survived by his wife, Pam; his father and step-mother, Larry & Carol Thomas; one son, Joshua Daniel Thomas; one brother, Matthew Thomas; three sisters, Crystal Thomas, Kelly Martin and Roni Sue Pickard and several nieces and nephews. Dan is preceded by his mother.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
