Gerold "Dean" Siverly, 75, Oblong, Illinois passed away Thursday August 4, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana after a brief battle with cancer. Dean was born January 14, 1930 in Marshall, Illinois and was the son of Doug Siverly and Lucy McQuality. On October 30, 1948 Dean married Betty Marie Jenkins and she survives. Dean owned and operated Shaffer Electric Motor Repair for several years then became an independent oil producer for thirty years. Dean was an avid golfer, fisherman, enjoyed daily games of pool and was a collector of what some people call junk.

Dean is survived by his wife, Betty, three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice Robinson, Jane & Bill Lewis and Terry & Daryl Fisher, one Uncle Kenneth & Pauline Reed, two granddaughters, Melissa & Chris Cupp and Jamie & Tim Rains, two grandsons, Tyler and Derek Akers, three great-grandsons, Levi & Lucus Cupp and Payton Akers and several nieces & nephews.

Dean was preceded by his parents, one son Mark Siverly, one grandson Randy Robinson and one brother Dale Siverly.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
