Martha K. "Kate" Murphy, 68, Oblong, Illinois, died Thursday January 6, 2005 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois. Kate was born on November 24, 1936 in Oblong, Illinois and was the daughter of Allen & Nettie (Weck) Sanders. On April 19, 1957 Kate married Winfred "Wimp" Murphey and he preceded her in death on January 9, 1999. Kate was a homemaker and she loved to play bingo. Kate was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Kate is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Johnnie & Christina Murphy; one daughter and son-in-law Stephanie & Danny Frichtl; four grandchildren Cody, Lacey, Ciera Murphy and Lauren Frichtl; one step grandson Zachary Frichtl; three brothers and sisters-in-law David & Jill Sanders, Paul Max & Darlene Sanders and Hobart "Junior" Sanders; two sisters and brother-in-law Dorothy Hursey and Jo & Don Carter; one sister-in-law Elzora Sanders and several nieces and nephews.

Kate is preceded by her parents, husband, four brothers Perry, Carl & Floyd Sanders and Ralph Musgrave; six sisters Louelle Sanders, Ethel Lynas, Marrie Ikemire, Louise Higginbothem, Margaret Shaffer and Ruth Bruner; and one infant child.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
