Keith D. Bennett, 58, Chicago, Illinois died Wednesday November 9, 2005 at his residence from an apparent heart attack. Keith was born on April 19, 1947 in Hammond, Indiana and was the son of Silas A. and Charlotte L. (Smith) Bennett. For several years Keith worked as a Certified Occupational Therapist at Ravenswood Hospital, Chicago, IL until his health prohibited him from continuing in this field. He was currently employed at the main Library in Chicago, IL. Keith attended elementary school in Hammond, IN, graduated from Calumet HIgh School, Gary, IN and attended Indiana University, Bloomington, IN where he majored in Journalism. Keith enjoyed sports, reading, watching movies, attending stage plays in Chicago (where he worked as a usher for three of Chicago's largest theaters), visiting relatives and friends, doing craft work, cooking and e-mailing his aunt Carol.

Keith is survived by his mother, Charlotte Bennett; one son, Timothy Alan Bennett; one sister and brother-in-law, Laurie & David Sgambelluri; one brother, Gary Neil Bennett; three nieces and their families, Sara Bennett, Tracy & Todd Lightcap (Danielle, Jessica, Jamie & Justin), Brad & Tonia Booker (Bennett & Lucas); one uncle, Floyd Bennett; four aunts, Roni (Spencer) Greene, Carol S. Myers, Retha Spaugh and Gracie Good; his former wife Carol Bennett and many cousins and a host of friends.

Keith is preceded by his father, Silas A. Bennett, in 1968; his former wife's parents, Carl & Helen Feister; his grandparents, Clarence Ray & Sylvia Smith and Richard & Julia Bennett and one aunt, Karen Elaine Smith who died in infancy.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois
