Eugene Lockhart, 82, Oblong, Illinois passed away Saturday August 6, 2005 at his residence. Eugene was born on April 7, 1923 in Crawford County, Illinois and was the son of Charlie & Lola (Shook) Lockhart. On January 4, 1947 Eugene married Virginia Irene (Osborn) and she survives. Eugene served in the U. S. Army during W. W. II. He was a life long farmer and he retired from Local #157 Plumbers and Steamfitters in 1985. Eugene was a member of the Bellair Church of Christ.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Virginia, three sons and daughter-in-law, Gale & Betty Lockhart, Timothy E. Lockhart and Neil E. Lockhart, three daughters and sons-in-law, Louise & Dick Pritts, Lila & Danny Jackson and Joni Lockhart & fiance David Palmer, seven grandchildren and eight granchildren, one sister and brother-in-law, Helen & Hubert Chesser and one sister-in-law, Janus Lockhart.

Preceding Eugene was his parents, two brothers, Lyle & Floyd Lockhart and one sister, Olive.

Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery, rural Bellair, Illinois.
