MILITARY RITES CONDUCTED BY: OBLONG AMERICAN LEGION POST #219 Kenneth "Leo" Catt, 71, Casper, Wyoming formerly of Oblong, Illinois passed away Sunday August 7, 2005 in Casper, Wyoming. Leo was born March 30, 1934 in Crawford County, Illinois and was the son of Irvin & Birdie Catt. In 1954 Leo married Earleen (Meyers) and they later divorced. In 1978 he married June (Smith) in Colorado Springs. Leo graduated from Oblong High School in 1951 and joined the U. S. Navy in 1953. After four years he joined the U. S. Air Force and retired in 1973. Leo worked as a truck driver for 15 years before retiring again. Following retirement, he moved to Oblong, Illinois and later moved to Casper, Wyoming. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #9439 in Casper and the American Legion Post #219 in Oblong, Illinois. Leo was a volunteer fire fighter in Stratmoor Hills in Colorado Springs. He also donated ten gallons of blood in his lifetime. Leo enjoyed camping, playing cards, square dancing, reading, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Leo is survived by his wife June, one son, Mark Catt, three step-sons, Gene & Pati Smith, Rick & Manda Smith and Marc & Renee Smith, nine grandchildren, one step-brother, Jim Leeds, four half-brothers, Robert Catt, Max Catt, Rex Catt and Leland Catt, one half-sister, Carol Ann Wilson and brother-in-law, Wayne Donaldson. Leo was preceded by his parents, step-mother and one sister, Joyce Donaldson. Burial will be in the Hardinville Cemetery, Hardinville, Illinois.
