Gladys Brown, 98, Oblong, Illinois passed away Saturday October 1, 2005 at the Long Term Care Unit of Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois. Gladys was born on February 3, 1907 in Hardinville, Illinois and was the daughter of Jacob and Cecelia (Dennis) Mitchell. On September 24, 1932 Gladys married Robert H. Brown and he preceded her in death on December 23, 1990. Gladys was a farm wife and homemaker. She was a member of the Dogwood - Prairie United Methodist Church. Gladys loved to work in her flower garden and sewing.

Surviving Gladys are three daughters and sons-in-law, Jane & Harold Sholders, Donna & Donald Newbold and Martha & Bob Glass; twelve grandchildren, Brad & Cheryl Glass, Jane & Mike Faggioli, Doug & Vanessa Glass, Bill & Melissa Glass, Dan & Mary Jo Glass, Roger & Debbie Sholders, Randy & Vickie Sholders, Sara & Kevin Leffler, Lesa & Jeff Yager, Kay & Alan Wattles, Jeannea & Marion Shier and Mark & Judy Newbold, twenty-six great-grandchildren & four great-great-grandchildren and two nieces Norma Kennedy & Bernice Grescuk.

Preceding Gladys was her parents, husband, two grandchildren, Ricky & Susan Sholders and two sisters, Dale Sempsrote & Minnie Leggitt.

Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, Rural Jasper County, Illinois
