Shannon Smith 33, Oblong, Illinois, died Friday March 12, 2004 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois from cancer. Shannon was born in Lawrenceville, Illinois on February 10, 1971 and was the daughter of Jerry Smith and Sandra "Sandy" (Crouch) Smith. Shannon had worked for E. R. Moore - Newton, IL, Bradford Supply - Robinson, IL., Manager at Subway in Robinson, Manager of Park Mart II in Oblong, IL. and at Lexel in Hutsonville, IL. until her illness in 2002. Shannon was a member of First Baptist Church, Oblong. She graduated from Oblong High School with the Class of 1989. Shannon was a huge fan of NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Shannon is survived by her parents Jerry and Sandy Smith; two daughters Amber Goodwin and Abby Jo Williamson; brother and sister-in-law Travis & Teresa Smith; sister Stacy Houser; three nephews Jason Andrews and special friend Sara Laucius, Derek Yager and Seth Smith; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Maternal grandparents James & Snotha Crouch and paternal grandparents Zelta & Aileen Smith precede Shannon in death.

Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery.
