Ralph E. Mouser Sr. 87, Oblong, Illinois died Thursday May 8, 2003 at
his residence. Ralph was born on March 26, 1916 in Oblong, Illinois
and was the son of Oren Mouser and Celia (Davis) Mouser. On June 13,
1940, he married Margaret "Peggy" Reed, who preceded Ralph
in death on September 4, 1986. Ralph retired from Marathon Oil Company
as a Well Tester. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air
Corp, receiving the Purple Heart; when he was wounded on February 23,
1942. Ralph retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air
Force. Ralph was also a Life Member of the Oblong Masonic Lodge #644
AF & AM, Oblong American Legion Post #219 and a member of Central
United Methodist Church, Oblong.
Ralph is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Ralph E. & Sandy
Mouser Jr.; daughter Kathy Mouser; three granddaughters Dee Dee Deffez,
Danelle & Kenny Davis and Amy & Thad Bergelin; two great grandchildren
Kenneth Kohl Davis and Katie Bergelin; a brother and sister-in-law Howard
& Ida Mouser and a nephew Jerry & Bev Mouser.
Preceding Ralph is death were his parents, infant son Stan Lee Mouser
and a brother Lloyd Mouser.
Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery
