Max E. Lindsey 77, The Villages, Florida formerly of Oblong, Illinois died at his daughter's residence. Max was born on January 31, 1926 in Annapolis, Illinois and was the son of Pearl and Florence (Newlin) Lindsey. On April 17, 1949, he married Bettye (Lewis) and she survives him. Max served in the Army Air Forces during World War II as a Communications Specialist serving in Hawaii; he also served as Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis in the State of Indiana. Max was employed as an electrician for Marathon Oil Company, Texas Eastern Transmission Corp., Weber Jewelry, Robinson, Illinois and as a courier for the First National Bank - Oblong, Illinois. Max was a member of the First Christian Church, Oblong, Illinois.

Surviving Max is his wife: Bettye; two daughters and sons-in-law: Susan & Steven Early and Cathy & Robert Broman; three grandchildren: Jami & Greg Lason, Lori Broman and Scott Broman; one great-grandchild due in February; one brother and sister-in-law: Leo & Mary Lou Lindsey; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Neva & Harold Otey, Blodwyn Price & Ruby & Ellis Hamilton; one sister-in-law: Imogene Lindsey; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Max in death were his parents; one brother Keith Lindsey; one brother-in-law: Merle Price.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
