Charles W. "Jim" Caywood 85 Oblong passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at his daughter and son-in-law's residence. Jim was born December 2, 1917 in Augusta, Kansas and was the son of Charles R. and Florence Bell (Mumford) Caywood. On April 27, 1941, he married Mary Brown and she preceded him in death on April 15, 1997. Jim was a retired farmer as well as a retired loan officer for Production Credit Association. He was a member of the Army Air Corp during WWII serving in Africa and the European Theatre as a Commissioned Officer. Jim was a member of the First Christian Church in Oblong and also worshiped at the Highland Church of Christ in Robinson. He was a graduate of Oblong High School Class of 1935. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking and woodcutting.

Jim is survived by one son Bradley B. Caywood; one daughter and son-in-law Jodie and Bill Holt; one granddaughter Story Caywood & husband Ryan Chester; first great grandson to be born August, 2003; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law Keith and Jeanie Caywood & Herb and Marty Caywood; one sister and brother-in-law Dale and Wag Wagahoft; several nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Clint, Paul, Joe and Harold Caywood and two sisters: Lucille Wilson and Roberta Rich.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
